Our dance mistress will again be Ms. Joan Walton, an internationally renowned authority on historic vintage dances. She will also teach an all-levels “Survival Waltz” workshop prior to the ball (11-1 pm in the same venue), including the specialty and called dances of the evening. Cost of the workshop is $15 at the door only. Highly recommended for a more enjoyable ball experience, and the best way to meet potential dance partners.

Enjoy a fun (and romantic) mix of music/dance genres: waltz, swing, blues, tango, and more.
Non-dancers are welcome, and dressing up is encouraged.

Twice a month, on Thu afternoons from 11:30 - 2:30pm, the San Diego Park and Recreation Dept hosts a dance in the Balboa Park Club Ballroom for only $5. John Nagel, from the Balboa Park Dancers teaches ballroom dances from 11:30am-12:30pm. Live music from 12:30-2:30pm.
Most of the time it will be a live band with an occasional DJ. See below for theme & band.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
